Wedding Website and Print Collateral

My End-of-Summer Catskills Wedding

Summer 2019

Designing with Myself as the Client

Designing for oneself as a client can indeed present unique challenges, but it also offers an opportunity to bring your full vision to life. In the case of my wedding, which took place over Labor Day weekend in the Catskills, my goal was to evoke a nostalgic end-of-summer atmosphere with a playful and laidback vibe.

To communicate this overall feel, I began with the save the date. Inspired by childhood cootie catchers, I designed a square card with elements in each corner. Playful illustrations of mountains, a campfire, s'mores, and the sun and moon were incorporated to convey the Catskills location and the multi-day nature of the event. The design utilized vibrant colors that evoke the warm and nostalgic feeling of summer sunsets.

For the print collateral and website, a combination of warm sunset-inspired hues such as rich oranges, deep purples, soft pinks, and golden yellows were strategically applied to create a visually engaging and vibrant experience.

To enhance the playful and energetic design direction, I chose eye-catching fonts, incorporating bold and rounded typefaces that convey warmth and friendliness. Interactive elements like animations and hover effects added an extra layer of interactivity and playfulness.

By carefully selecting colors, typography, and incorporating playful illustrations, the design effectively captures the laidback and fun atmosphere you desired for your wedding. It creates a visually engaging experience that communicates the nostalgic end-of-summer ambiance and sets the tone for a memorable and enjoyable event in the Catskills.
